LOOP HIKE FROM K-HILL CONNECTOR THROUGH TOM’S CANYON AND SQUAW TRAIL

Date: Thursday, May 19, 2011
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: Gather in the parking lot of the Kane County Office of Tourism, 78 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah. Carpool or caravan to the trailhead.

Description: This hike will cover about 4.5 miles with an elevation gain of 800 feet, and is a moderate to strenuous hike with steep switchbacks and beautiful views of Kanab City, the Kaibab Plateau, the White Cliffs and the Bryce Canyon area to the North. Leading the hike is geologist, Charlie Neumann, who will interpret the natural history in the rocks and formations along the way. Participants should bring at least 3 quarts of water, and your favorite food and snacks for a lunch stop along the way. Group size is limited to 12 people. Participants should register in advance online with Charlie at charlie@kanab.net, or by calling 435-644-8884. Friendly, leashed dogs are permitted.
