HIKE THE PARIA BOX TO YELLOW ROCK

Location: This hike is on Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Gather in the parking lot of the Kane County Office of Tourism, 78 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah. Carpool or caravan to the trailhead. Muddy roads may cause cancellation in wet weather.
Description: Join former BLM Park Ranger Marty Feely on a strenuous 8-mile round-trip hike from the Paria River to Yellow Rock. Expect to get your feet wet and muddy en route to fabulous views and unusual rock formations. The route is mostly moderate with one steep scramble and an ascent of Yellow Rock. Elevation gain: approximately 1,000 feet. Bring shoes you don’t mind getting wet, along with lunch, snacks, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and at least one gallon of water. Limited to12 people.
