ATV RIDE ON THE GRAND STAIRCASE

Date: Saturday, May 21, 2011
Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: Meet at the corral adjacent to US Highway 89, one quarter mile east of mile marker 32, a little over 30 miles east of Kanab.

Description: Enjoy an ATV ride back through time within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument along the Paria Breaks Road. Riders will explore a gorgeous canyon on a route to the old Paria town site, where GSENM Archaeologist, Matt Zweifel, will uncover the history, the mystery, and some of the oddities of the old Pioneer settlement. The ride will take three to four hours and is limited to 25 persons. Bring sunscreen, lunch or snacks, and sufficient water. Please make a reservation by calling the GSENM Visitor Center in Kanab at 435-644-4680.
