Description: A look at the historical role of fire on the Colorado Plateau with an emphasis on current conditions of fire ecology, brought about by the settlement of the West. Policies to suppress natural fire regimes over the last 100 years, have led to recent attempts by land management agencies to re-introduce fire into a fire-adapted ecosystem.
