Arvel Bird to Perform at Invocation to Sustainability; Elizabeth Gaylynn Baker Delivers Keynote

This Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Angel’s Landing Outdoor Amphitheater, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, enter an ancient gathering site for a moving experience blending soul stirring music, discussion, poetry, prayer and meditation in a live outdoor performance exploring our connection to nature and to Earth as Mother.

Descendent of the Native American Southern Paiute tribe, Celtic/Indian composer and musician extraordinaire Arvel Bird will open this year’s Amazing Earthfest, a celebration of learning arts and adventure events in Kanab, Utah, with his beautiful violin and wooden flutes and a traditional ceremony to center, focus, heal, and keep your spirit soaring! www.arvelbird.com.

Award-winning documentary film maker Elizabeth Gaylynn Baker, 10th annual 2016 Amazing Earthfest Utah Humanities guest and keynote speaker for the Invocation to Sustainability, will enjoin the audience in dialog to uncover and enable effective responses to climate disruption, a present reality that many see as the most urgent issue of our time. Afterwards, her DVDs of her 2015 documentary film as well as copies of her new book Gifts of Gratitude will be available for sale.

At 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 8, at Crescent Moon Theater in Kanab, Elizabeth will introduce her award winning film, WE KNOWNOT WHAT WE DO, in a free screening, followed by a facilitated conversation with the audience. Don’t miss these rare opportunities to connect with Elizabeth, enlarge your understanding, and build community awareness and action around this very timely issue. www.weknownotwhatwedo.net , www.giftsofgtatitude.net.

Talented local poets including Raven Chiong, Sky Chaney and others will offer additional inspiration through their personal experiences of nature. Amazing Earthfest invites residents and visitors to explore the world of spirit, ethics and ideas in the beauty of the natural world.
