GRAND STAIRCASE: VITAL CORRIDOR FOR WILDLIFE

Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2018

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Location: GSENM Visitor Center, 745 East US. Hwy 89, Kanab.

Description: When President Clinton designated Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (GSENM) emphasizing its remoteness and natural beauty, he also recognized its crucial role as a wildlife passage. The GSENM Proclamation specifies perennial streams and other riparian areas that act as migration corridors for many species, including deer, neo-tropical birds, mountain lions, and bears.

Wildlife migration corridors through GSENM provide essential pathways connecting Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Grand Canyon National Parks with Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Learn how through direct involvement in upcoming public land planning, recent legislation, and other opportunities to give input, citizens can help protect and restore these remarkable, biologically significant wildways.
