On this Mother’s Day, enter an ancient gathering site for a moving experience blending soul stirring music, discussion, poetry, prayer and meditation in a live outdoor performance exploring our connection to nature and to Earth as Mother.

Descendent of the Native American Southern Paiute tribe, Celtic/Indian composer and musician extraordinaire Arvel Bird will open the week’s festival of learning arts and adventure events with a traditional ceremony to center, focus and heal…. At intervals throughout the program, you’ll experience the powerful yet soulful sound of Arvel’s beautiful violin and wooden flutes to keep your spirit soaring! www.arvelbird.com.

For this year’s Invocation to Sustainability, award-winning documentary film maker Elizabeth Gaylynn Baker, special Utah Humanities guest and keynote speaker for the 10th annual Amazing Earthfest, will enjoin the audience in dialog to uncover and enable effective responses to the threatening reality of Global Warming; the most urgent issue of our time. Afterwards, her DVD’s as well as copies of her new book Gifts of Gratitude will be available for sale.

At 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 8, at Crescent Moon Theater in Kanab, Elizabeth will introduce her award winning new documentary film, WE KNOWNOT WHAT WE DO, in a free screening, followed by a facilitated conversation with the audience. Don’t miss these rare opportunities to connect with Elizabeth, enlarge your understanding, and build community awareness and action around this very timely and critical issue. www.weknownotwhatwedo.net

Talented local poets including Raven Chiong and others will offer additional inspiration through their personal experiences.

Amazing Earthfest invites residents and visitors to explore the world of spirit, ethics and ideas. Welcome living inspiration in the beauty of the natural world. Gather on the grassy meadow of a natural red rock alcove, center and focus attention on the Source, connect with each other and all life forms with whom we share the land, and with the Earth that is home to all of us.
