Guided hikes, cycling and outdoor adventures, arts, science, ethics, astronomy, public land management, back-country exploration, community and sustainable living are all in the program at Amazing Earthfest. Activities are scheduled in five distinct categories. Click a category to sort, or scroll through the complete list!

Event Listings are UTAH TIME, (Mountain Daylight Time), unless otherwise noted!  Please allow sufficient drive time for events outside Kanab City limits. Remember, Arizona remains on standard time all year round. So for example, from April thru October, 9:00 AM in Utah is 8:00 AM in Arizona.

A wonderful range of  fascinating events for the 12th Annual 2018 Amazing Earthfest is now under development! Complete 2018 Festival event information will become available as events are confirmed at the five event category links above, and with a PDF link below. Scroll down on this page to see all our 2018 festival events listed in chronological order by date and time. If you haven’t attended southern Utah’s Amazing Earthfest before, a memorable experience awaits you! Browse our “Past Events” pages now!

Our themes for the 12th annual Amazing Earthfest 2018: TO COMMEMORATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARIES OF THE NATIONAL HISTORIC AND SCENIC TRAILS, AND THE WILD AND SCENIC RIVERS ACTS, AND TO PRESERVE STARRY SKIES OVER THE COLORADO PLATEAU. Look for activities focused on historic & scenic trails and majestic rivers, plus night sky events including talks, constellation viewing, stories and sidewalk astronomy.

Did you know? Utah has approximately 81,899 miles of river, of which only 169.3 miles are designated as wild & scenic—2/10ths of 1% of the state’s river miles! And Utah has some of the darkest nighttime skies anywhere in the lower 48 states!  Several important National Historic Trails cross Utah, including the Old Spanish Trail, California Trail, Mormon Trail and Pony Express Trail. The northern terminus of the Arizona Trail touches Utah very close to Kanab.  Torrey, Utah became the state’s first International Dark Sky City and we hope many more will follow. Fourteen Utah State Parks have applied for Dark Sky Park designation and several National Parks and Monuments in Utah have already been awarded that status.  The moon, stars, Milky Way, planets and constellations above Utah are dazzling, like lanterns in the clear blackness.
